Ray Ozzie starts to emerge from stealth mode

Ozzie, the former chief software architect for Microsoft — and the force behind Windows Azure — is looking for a lead UX/UI designer according to a job posting spotted on Facebook Wednesday night. Candidates are asked to send their information to jobs@cocomo.com.
Ray Ozzie － Microsoft の前チーフ･ソフトウェア･アーキテクトであり、Windows Azure を後ろから支えてきた、この男だが、水曜日の夜に Facebook で見つけられたジョブポストによると、チームを引っ張ることのできる UX／UI デザイナーを探しているようだ。 我と思わんものは、jobs@cocomo.com に職歴などを送ると良いだろう。
Details are slim, but the effort is clearly focused on mobility and interestingly, the ideal candidate should show proficiency in iOS and Android, according to the ad. There is no mention of Windows Phone.

Ozzie, who also led the team that developed Lotus Notes, is well respected by programmers. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates once called him the best programmer on the planet — and that was when Ozzie was still at Lotus Development Corp., a competitor to Microsoft. Gates later hand-picked Ozzie as his successor as chief software architect at Microsoft.

Applicants in the Seattle and Boston area are preferable, although San Francisco or New York are options for the right candidates.
話は戻るが、この求人の応募者は、正式には Seattle／Boston エリアが望ましいようだが、San Francisco／New York もオプションとして可能なようだ。

つい先ほど見つけた記事です。 同様に、Business Insider でも報じられています。 そちらでは、Microsoft との契約により、Ozzie は 2011年末までコンペティタになれなかったと説明されています。 こうした逸材が、時間を無駄にしてしまったことは残念ですが、その分、シッカリと取り返してくれるだろうと期待してます。 それと、Ray Ozzie のブログですが、久々に行ってみたら、1年と 2ヶ月ぶりに更新されていました。 Twitter と Facebook のアカウントが書いてあるだけの、そっけないものですが、再始動したのは間違いないでしょう
